2025 MCRSC Bomb/Parachute Drop Contest

After a 1-week delay for a Nor’easter, the 19th Annual MCRCS Bomb/Parachute Drop Contest took place on October 19th.   It turned out to be a beautiful day with sunny weather and highs reaching the low 70’s.  Winds proved to be very tricky and started out around 7 mph at 9 am and increased to around 12 to 15 mph by noon.  Higher wind gusts were also occurring at any time.  This caused all types of problems with the lighter foam planes if you tried a slow approach to the target as well as with landings.

We had a good turnout with 9 entrants in the bomb drop and 4 entrants in the Parachute Drop.  Carl Tindall with his Timber took first place in both events achieving 10 points in the Bomb Drop and 5 points in the Parachute Drop.   We also had a good number of non-participating members watching on and taking pictures and videos of the flights.   Contest Coordinator was Carl G. again but we also need to thank Irwin for getting the food, and Brian B. for setting up and making lunch.  Muhammad and Nobu were also a big help in retrieving bombs and parachutes.  It should be noted that we had a special toilet (Delsey Dive) tissue release by Johannes where other pilots joined in by cutting the paper tissue trails with their planes as it fell to the ground.  What a sight to behold!
