Mercer County Radio Control Society has in the past presented a flight school so that individuals in our communities, who may have always wanted to fly a model airplane, can try it.  The following is information that has been compiled to assist you in learning how to fly.

The previous objective was to give interested people a chance to meet club members, learn about the sport in general, get a better idea of what it takes to build and fly a model airplane, and to actually try their hands at flying one. The school in the past was usually about six hours long in total and consisted of lectures on the theory and practice of model flight, one-on-one discussions of the details, and an introductory flight with one of the club's instructors using one of the club's trainer model airplanes. Participants who find the sport of interest are invited to join the club and fly with us on a regular basis.

Even though we do not still run the school, you can still read the course notes and see the visuals that were used in the classes by clicking on the links below. The last link, Class Photos, contains photographs of the previous program in session. Although we do not still have the flight school,  you can still come to one of our meetings or one of our public events and we'll give you the help you'll need.
