About The Club

The Mercer County Radio Control Society is a chartered club (#422) of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA).   Our focus is radio controlled flying models, and the range of models we fly is quite broad, extending from small electric foam planes through giant-scale models with wingspans as great as nineteen feet.  We have been an organized club for over 50 years and fly at Warren Kruse Field on the edge of Lake Assunpink in the Assunpink Wildlife Management Area near Imlaystown, NJ off of I-195  Exit 11.

We meet once per month on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm, most often at the Cranbury Public Library located at 30 Park Place West in Cranbury, NJ. During the summer months we meet at the flying field at 7pm.  Check the calendar on this website for dates, locations and directions.

Membership is open to anyone who would like to fly radio controlled airplanes. Currently we have about 85 members residing across most of central New Jersey and part of Pennsylvania. If you are new to the sport, come by the field any Saturday or Sunday afternoon to see what this sport is about and talk with some of our skilled pilots. We also encourage anyone to come to one of our events or just stop in at one of our meetings.  Both newbies and experienced flyers are welcome. We encourage prospective members, who are AMA members, to fly as guests at our field, as long as they are accompanied by a current club member. If you like what you see and you are a current AMA member, you can apply for membership.

You will see from our website that ours is an active club, sponsoring several events each year. Our Jumbo Jamboree is a giant-scale air show, the proceeds of which are donated to the Sunshine Foundation.

The club's mailing address is PO Box 84, Hightstown, NJ 08520. You may also contact us by email.
